Hours: Open from 1 May to 30 October, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The site offers a magnificent view of the historic Grenville Canal and the Long-Sault Bridge, which spans the Ottawa River. For a short walk or bike ride, or simply to relax, picnic tables are available for you to enjoy a snack.

Les canaux historiques de Carillon et de Grenville

Built between 1819 and 1830, the Carillon and Grenville canals were primarily constructed for military strategic reasons, but they were used instead for transporting timber, a vital industry for the region’s economy at the time. The remains of these canals can still be admired today and are now heritage and recreational sites.
